Get ready for an exciting swim & dive season at Birchwood

Swim & Dive Team Registration Day -Sunday, June 9, 2024 @ 10am - 12pm

  • Registration for the swim team will be held at the Club on June 9th

    • Registration is primarily for new swimmers as we will have new swimmer evaluations, team suit samples and coaches / parent representatives available to answer questions

  • All swimmers must complete the registration {FORM} on or before registration day.

  • If you cannot make the registration date, evaluations can be done during preseason practices.

  • Fee is $175 per swimmer. Check or cash only. Make checks payable to “Birchwood Swim & Tennis, Inc”. Please pay during registration or bring to your first practice.

  • Only members of Birchwood Swim & Tennis Club can join our teams.

Practice Schedule

PRESEASON: Weekdays

  • Starting June 17th practice is for all new and returning swimmers.

  • There is no requirement as to how many practices you attend, but attendance will be taken into account when making line-ups for swim meets. 

    • A Team Swimmers - 5:15 - 6:15 pm

    • B Team Swimmers - 4:30 - 5:15 pm

    • All Divers - 4pm

SUMMER: Weekdays
Thursday, June 27 - Friday, August 2nd

  • A Team

    • Monday & Friday 9:00 - 10:00 am

    • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10:00 - 11:30 am

    • All weekdays 5:30 - 6:30pm

  • B Team

    • Monday & Friday 10:00 - 11:00 am

    • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10:30 - 11:30 am

    • All weekdays 4:30 - 5:30 pm

  • Diving - TBD

New Swimmer Evaluations

  • Evaluations for all new swimmers who wish to join the team will happen on registration day. We will assess swimmers for both the A & B teams from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

  • Swimmers must be able to complete 25 meters (1 lap of pool) without assistance to be eligible as a safety requirement.

  • There will be an A-Team as well as a B-Team this season. Please review the descriptions below to see where your child will experience the most success!

Swim Team Levels

 

A-Team Member Requirements

  • Any swimmer that has competed in last summer’s A-Team dual meet schedule

  • Swimmers who are 8-years-old and under must be able to swim at least 2 competitive strokes, continuously, using good form, for 25 yards.

  • Swimmers that are 9, 10, 11 and 12 must be able to swim at least 2 competitive strokes, continuously, using proper form, for at least 50 yards.

  • Swimmers that are 13 years old and older must be able to swim at least 2 competitive strokes, continuously, using proper form, for 100 yards.

B-Team Member Requirements  

  • Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards without stopping

  • Swimming techniques will be practiced at every practice

  • This is not meant for non-swimmers, or for children who are fearful of the water.

Team Swim Suits

 

Suit Sizing will be available during registration days.

All registered swimmers and divers will receive a team shirt and cap.

We will also have other team apparel available for sale on registration day. Cash or checks only.
